Job Description: Project Engineer (PIU – Uva)
Ministry of Transport and Highways, Sri Lanka
The Project Implementation Unit (PIU – Uva Province) is seeking an experienced and result-oriented Project Engineer to oversee provincial transport infrastructure development projects. This is a contract-based appointment under the Ministry of Transport.
Key Responsibilities

Project Supervision: Manage and monitor day-to-day civil engineering works, ensuring road, bridge, or structural projects meet quality standards and timelines.

Contract Management: Assist the Project Director in evaluating contractor progress, reviewing technical drawings, and verifying bills of quantities (BOQs).

Coordination: Liaise with local authorities in the Uva Province, utility providers, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications & Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

Minimum of 3–5 years of field experience in infrastructure projects (experience in public sector or foreign-funded road projects is preferred).
